Persian manuscript on paper, 317ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 23ll. of black nasta'liq arranged in four columns with double gold intercolumnar rule, headings in gold within clouds in gold outlined panels, catchwords, with gold and blue or red marginal rules, opening bifolio with dense gold and polychrome illumination, four futher illuminated headpieces throughout the text, with seven contemporary miniatures in gouache heightened with gold, further spaces left for more miniatures, some folios lacking outer marginal rules, colophon of the Iskandarnama signed and dated, some waterstaining, in brown morocco with tooled central medallion and borders
