The interior inscribed along the rim with a Persian inscription above flower sprigs and the central medallion containing geese amidst lotus plants, the exterior with alternate panel of auspicious symbols and peach between knotted tassels, polished rim, very small hairline crack

A similar bowl is in the Zwinger Palace at Dresden and in the Collection of the Groninger Museum, Netherlands and illustrated by M. Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, London, 1989, p. 165, pl. 206. The author suggests that the inscription may be part of a poem by Firdausi and notes that the bowl is extremely rare.
