AN UNUSUAL SMALL MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND GOLD-INLAID GURI LACQUER SEAL CHEST
18TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape with removable front panel, the case and panel, as well as the five drawers on the interior, finely carved through the fine black and red layers of lacquer with pommel scrolls, all within narrow dogtooth borders of fine gold and mother-of-pearl inlay, with huangtong mounts
5¾ in. (14.6 cm.) high, 6 5/8 in. (17 cm.) across, 4 5/8 in. (11.8 cm.) deep
