A peasant woman and child with a traveller on a track by a river near a farm, at sunset

The attribution is based on comparison with the signed picture, with J.O. Leegenhoek, Paris in 1970 (recorded in the RKD). As pointed out bij L.J. Bol, Holländische Maler des 17. Jahrhunderts, 1982, pp.160-161, characteristic of the work of the artist are the round treetops with foliage, the quiet evening atmosphere and the twisted tree trunks, which, as Bol suggested, are influenced by the work of Adam Elsheimer.
