A LARGE GREENISH-WHITE JADE RUYI SCEPTRE
18TH CENTURY
The thick arched shaft carved in high relief on top with tall stems of chrysanthemum rising from pierced rockwork cradled by a raised angular border carved with key fret at the triangular tip which is pierced, the ruyi head carved at the top with chrysanthemum flowers borne on an openwork stem that extends over the edge from the back of the shaft, the greenish-white stone with some dark grey and opaque white inclusions

Acquired by the grandfather of the present owners, Whampoa, Guangzhou, circa 1890 - 1920s, thence by descent within the family.
