THREE SMALL JADE ANIMAL PENDANTS
SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200-1000 BC
Including a rare flat cut-out of an anterled stag, the stone shading from white to brown; a double-bird carving simply detailed with grooves and circular eyes in low relief, with conical hole in the center between the bent legs, the pale grey-green stone with opaque buff alteration; and a seated bear shown in profile with biconical hole for the eye, carved on both sides with slash grooves outlining the foreleg and one parallel to the back, a pendent tab tapering to the bottom edge, the semi-transparent olive-green stone with opaque ivory-colored alteration
