A related saucer with red glass overlay is illustrated by Zhang Rong, Luster of Autumn Water, Glass of the Qing Imperial Workshops, Forbidden City Publishing House, 2005, no. 61. The colours of the metal and style of carving can be closely compared to a dou in the Palace Museum collection, illustrated, ibid., no. 76.
