This desk chair is close to several others which are all signed pieces by Georges Jacob. Among these there is one, practically identical to the present lot, although covered in leather and not caned, which is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Le mobilier Français du XVIIIe Siècle, Paris, 1989, p. 422.
