Gouache on paper, the lion lies with one paw crossed over the other, surrounded by cursory gold illumination on pink ground, above and below green panels decorated with silver scrolls, each with three verses of Sa'di written diagonally in black nasta'liq, between and around these, blue margins with silver illuminaiton, between gold and polychrome rules on orange card with gold and silver floral illumination, verso with 4ll. of black nasta'liq in green clouds reserved against gold ground, two corners with illuminated panels, around these pink silver illuminated borders with further small verses in nasta'liq, between similar gold and polychrome rules on wide border with gold and silver illumination, some worm holing
