Tasting note: Grimaldi's 1998 Le Coste exhibits a dark garnet color as well as a classic Barolo bouquet of melted road tar, rose petals, cherry syrup, tobacco, and spice box. Deep, textured, full-bodied, with sweet kirsch liqueur-like flavors infused with creosote/tar, and a moderately tannic finish, this old style, intense effort will drink well between 2003-2018. 90 points.
