Their dynamic serpentine bombé forms and double banded paneled parquetry drawers centered with rosettes as well as ormolu hoof form sabots identify these commodes as typical examples of Neapolitan cabinet-making. A related commode with star inlay was sold from the Property of G.A.H. Buisman, JZN., Christie's, Amsterdam, 27 June 2006, lot 166, and another was sold anonymously, Christie's, London, 23 June 1999, lot 77.
