Made for a civil official of the second rank, finely worked in Peking knot with the bird facing the sun as it alights atop a rock emerging from froth-capped waves, flanked by a peach tree and peonies and surrounded by lingzhi-shaped clouds and bats, within a border of bats and shou characters, all picked out in muted shades of blue, coral, yellow, green, mauve and white
