Painted in the manner of Christian Friedrich Herold, the teabowl with a continuous frieze of Orientals at various pursuits above a double iron-red line support, the interior with a Purpurmalerei chinoiserie vignette below a gilt interlocking scroll and dot-ornament panel border, the saucer with an attendant pushing a dignitary in a rickshaw within a double iron-red concentric circle cartouche and similar border, the underside with three sprays of indianische Blumen (small chip to footrim of teabowl, rubbing to gilding of saucer)
