Château Lafite-Rothschild--Millésime/Vintage 1989

Note de dégustation: Le Lafite commençait alors à montrer un peu de maturité. Pour moi, au palais, il valait un Latour et au nez un Mouton. En tous les cas, un vin agréable, harmonieux, avec un arrière goût très parfumé. Malgré une couleur chaude et mûre avec des teintes orangées sur les bords, le vin a une attaque très puissante, une 'entrée' très riche, une bonne balance, un bon fruit, beaucoup de tannins et d'acidité. Très bon mais pas encore prêt. Mai 2001 ****(*) 2010-2030 ou plus M.B.
Tasting note: the Lafite was beginning to show some maturity. For me, on the palate it was equal top with the Latour, and on the nose with Mouton. Anyway, a lovely wine,, complete, with a very fragrant aftertaste. Despite a warm rich mature colour with a tinge of orange at the rim, the wine has an extraordinary attack, a very rich 'entry', nice weigh, good fruit, plenty of tannin and acidity. Very good, but unready. May 2001 ****(*) 2010-2030 or beyond M.B.
