'La Dance entre les deux Fontaines'

The original, oil on canvas, 207 x 230 cm, is in the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, Dresden, since 1754 (G. Wildenstein, Lancret, 1924, p.81, no.143. fig.41). It dates from circa 1725 and is one of the most ambitious early works by the artist. The fountain on the right is a design of Gilles Marie Oppenort (1672-1742).
