The present composition is after the right wing of a diptych in the collection of the Prince of Wied, Neuwied (see M.J. Friedländer, op. cit.), probably painted around 1518. The left wing shows the Virgin and Child and the right wing is the portrait of Margaret of Austria, Regent of the Netherlands.
