CHATEAU de BEAUCASTEL

Château de Beaucastel is one of the few estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape to plant all 13 permitted varietals. Each grapes is vitified separately and then married before resting in large oak foudres for 12 months. Famously ageworthy, Beaucastel produces one of the regions most distinct and focused Châteauneuf-du-Pape's thanks to the high proportion of Mourvèdre, which lends structure and tannin. The late Jacques Perrin, one of the most respected vignerons in the Rhone Valley, espoused a philosophy of natural and traditional winemaking; his legacy continues with sons Francois and Jean-Pierre who have only increased quality since their father's passing in 1978.
