A Chinese famille rose footed quatrefoil dish, 19th century
with shallow rounded lappet shaped sides, supported on a splayed lozenge shaped foot, enamelled in the centre with a quatrefoil floral cartouche enclosing a dignitary pointing a spear at a lady holding onto it, encircled on the sides with dignitaries and warriors alternating with cartouches enclosing inscriptions, the undersides with pomegranate, peach, lychee and finger citron sprays above the foot with lotus sprays on a key-fret scroll -- 14¼in. (36.2cm.) wide; and a similarly decorated shell shaped dish. (2)
