with felt face and torso, oily-clear and black glass eyes with brown painted backs, painted features, ginger wool hair, felt horns, swivel head, jointed white mohair deer legs bent at the knee with felt pads, silk flower buds in hair and patterned mohair 'leopard skin', circa 1914 --20¾in. (52.5cm.) high (a few small moth holes)

The Faun, which is associated with Satyrs, but are known to be more gentle, are mischievous creatures with the legs, ears and tail of a deer and the face and body of a handsome young man. They follow the god Faunus and can cause nightmares. At times, they can also be quite cheerful.
