Circular, each with gilt scroll rosette to the white centre, the red-brown border with three different foliate gilt patterns between the gilt inner band and rim comprising:
Twelve dinner soup plates with lotus leaf, husk and scroll pattern
Six dinner plates with laurel spray and scroll pattern
Six dinner plates with lotus, husk and flowerspray pattern, marked under bases
9 3/8 in. (23.8 cm.); 9½ in. (23 cm.); and 9 7/8 in. (25 cm.) diameter respectively (24)

The Russian Service originally ordered by Alexander I for the Winter Palace, was re-named after the Director of His Majesty's Cabinet posthumously when the service was moved to Peterhof for use at the Catherine House in 1848. Originally designed with traditional Russian figural scenes for fifty place settings, the service was enlarged in the second half of the nineteenth century.
