The rebounding island backlocks with bolted hammers, Jones patent rotary-underlever, percussion fences, best scroll engraving, traces of colour hardening, trigger-guard extended to form skeletal pistol grip, well figured stock with cheekpiece and butt plate, sling swivels, the steel barrels with matt sight rib, open sight and bead foresight
Weight 8lb 6½oz., 14½in. pull, 28in. barrel, black powder proof. In its oak and leather case with all accessories, including cleaning rod, turn screws, extractor stamped J. Purdey and Sons .450, and loading tool marked J. Purdey and Sons.

The Maker's kindly confirm the rifle was completed in 1876 and has remained in the Deverell family since. This is a rare opportunity to purchase such a complete set which has been in storage for many years with the Makers.
