The antique-fluted sideboard table, with paired and herm-tapered legs capped by libation-paterae, relates in part to a 'Roman' fashioned table designed for Luton Hoo and illustrated by the Rome-trained architect Robert Adam (d.1796) in his Works in Architecture, 1772. The table may have been commissioned for the Georgian house at Ormesby, Norfolk before its early 19th century aggrandisement by Sir Edmund Lacon.
