In the 1930s Mrs. de Jong-van de Broek commissioned a design for a carpet from her close friend Jan Gompertz (1887-1963) to execute herself. He designed for her a quite simple composition as compared to those he usually designed and which were executed by the Kinheim workshop at Beverwijk. Kinheim manufactured only hand-knooted carpets. The carpet was a gift from Mrs. de Jong-van de Broek to the present owner.
