(75x59.8cm.) framed, the other by Vincentini for Photoplay magazine, graphite and watercolour on paper, dated 1937 -- 21½x17½in. (54.6x44.5cm.) framed; two portraits of Clark and Kay Gable, one an oil on canvas, signed and dated Peter Peilen-Engstrom, 1961 -- 21½x27¾in. (54.6x70.5cm.), the other a watercolour on paper, inscribed From Maurine & Sam, July 11 1957 Pebble Beach -- 12x12in. (30.5x30.5cm.) framed; an etching of Gable with a cigar, signed and numbered by the artist Richard J. Cooney, 417/1000 -- 24¼x19¼in. (61.6x48.9cm.) framed; and a candle holder modelled as Gable's head (6)

The Vincentini sketch in this lot was commissioned by Photoplay magazine - in a clipping from Photoplay circa 1937 [included in lot 42], the sketch is illustrated with the following caption: Herewith we enter the Great Casting Battle of "Gone With The Wind". So sure were we of our choice that we had Vincentini paint this portrait of Clark as we see him in this role...
