Each circular, the two smaller plaquettes depicting the scene of Mercury teaching Cupid to read in the presence of Venus and the other of Venus and Mars with a cupid trying to disarm the kneeling Mars and the two larger plaquettes depicting the scene of Venus and Adonis with a spear in his hand, two dogs and a putto holding a bow beside him, the other of Venus and Mars with a blacksmith in the background and two putti trying to disturb them
