The quaich is a traditional form of Scottish drinking vessel named from the old Gaelic cuach for cup. With a shallow bowl and two flat handles its shape is derived from wooden forms.

Circular and on a short foot, the sides engraved with Tudor rose and foliate motifs, with two bracket handles, one engraved with the Royal arms within a lozenge and with a label for difference, the other with an initial 'M' below a Royal Princess' coronet, marked underneath and engraved 'Asprey London'
