The Kromaz was the subject of British patent number 4164 granted to C. S. Lumley, T. K. Barnard and F. Gowenlock on 24 February 1899. It related to 'photochromo-stereoscopes and cameras for the production of the pictures'. The viewer makes use of a green and a blue/red screen to produce the stereoscopic effect.
