A GEORGE III MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE
THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY
The rectangular moulded cornice above a fluted and arcaded frieze above a pair of geometrically-glazed doors centred by ovals enclosing four adjustable mahogany shelves and four adjustable glass shelves, flanked by conforming wings, each enclosing four adjustable glass shelves, above a moulded shelf and a pair of doors with pearled oval panels, enclosing four graduated drawers, on a moulded plinth, the cornice with paint inscription '11 JUNE.3 1813 (?)', the underside of several drawers stencilled '21/2261/0358', the handles apparently original, the interior fitted with electric lights, and lined in yellow watered silk, restorations and replacements to mouldings and astragals.
