The bedroom apartment chair has shell and foliate-carved legs flanked by eagle's heads and terminate in 'claw' feet. It relates to a George II stool also carved with animal heads in the style of William Kent (d. 1748) (L. Synge, Chairs in Colour, Poole, 1978, pl. 9b).
