CIRCA 1760, BLUE CROWNED CT MONOGRAM MARKS, HIS WITH ADDITIONAL BLUE AB MONOGRAM AND IRON-RED G:HM. MARK, HERS WITH ADDITIONAL BLUE B AND INDISTINCT INCISED MARK
Each seated at tables and writing in ledgers, the merchant in a white frock-coat and waistcoat, the table-top with a letter, sealing wax, seal, candlestick and an inkwell, barrels and packages of food strewn at his feet, his wife wearing a lace cap and blue flowered clothes, a ledger in her left hand, the table-top with similar writing implements, with bound packages, bottles and a carrying basket at her feet, both on grassy mound bases edged with gilt scrolls (quills and candlestick partially lacking, his base with slight chipping to foliage, small restored chip to table edge and manuscript corner, her base with very slight chipping to edge, seal handle and one bottle neck restuck, another neck restored, basket handle a metal replacement, very slight chipping to her bonnet and cloth by left arm)
