This lantern was used until relatively recently for magic lantern shows in conjunction with many of the lots of slides described in the lantern slide section (lots 325 and 359). Robinson dates this model of triunial lantern to 1895 towards the end of the life of the triunial or triple lantern which he records from 1874-1907. It originally sold for £42 10s.
