Ichiyushi Morihira was a Tokyo artist. From the age of 14 he studied with Yoshioka Mitsushige (d. 14 September, 1923, in the Great Kanto Earthquake).

20th century, signed Ichiyushi Morihira (1899-1971) and inscribed Natsuo wo utsusu (After a design by Natsuo [Kano Natsuo (1828-1898)])
The plate slightly lobed and hammered on the surface to resemble a stone finish and decorated with a design of peonies in the rain on the front and a snail on leaves on the reverse, all inlaid in gold and silver and carved in high relief

With Hozon tosogu (Sword fitting worthy of preserving) certificate issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Sociey of the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 1997.4.15
