A GOLD-MOUNTED BLOODSTONE BOX
Circa 1819, apparently unmarked
Rectangular, with hinged cover and reeded borders, with panels of bloodstone held within a gold frame, engraved on the lower bezel with a presentation inscription, one side panel missing
2 7/8 in. (74 mm.) wide
The inscription reads, 'Presented February 1819 with the FREEDOM of the Corporation of HILLSBOROUGH To Charles Chetwynd Earl Talbot'
