Adams"), as President, to Samuel Frothingham, Quincy, 12 September 1827. 1 page, 8vo, closed tear repaired from verso, some shadowing of text (from folding) along top portion of verso, matted and framed with engraved portrait of Adams. PRESIDENT ADAMS COVERS AN OVER-DRAFT IN HIS BOSTON BANK ACCOUNT. In the third-year of his Presidency, Adams writes to the cashier of the Boston branch of the bank of the United States to cover a deficit: "I have given a check on the Branch Bank at Boston payable to Harvey Field or Order - for 880 dollars. This sum exceeding my balance at the Bank I enclose a Check in your favour on the Branch Bank at Washington for one thousand Dollars which I request to pass to my credit at your Branch."
