Samuel Henry Alken was the eldest son of Henry Thomas Alken, and grandson of Samuel Alken Senior. Known as 'Henry Alken Junior', he worked in both oil and watercolour, in a style similar to that of his father. He tended to paint in sets and usually focussed on sporting scenes.
