In the 1906 Synchronome catalogue this style of clock is included in the section, Controlling Pendulums (automatic time switches) and referred to as Half Seconds (Escapement Pattern). It retailed for £4. The principle was basically the original 1895 patent that was to be overtaken by later modifications; ie., the slave dial in the door, the convenient ability to set dials to time and of course the gravity arm pattern (even at this time shown in the same catalogue) that was to remain after numerous modifications the company standard. This is consequently a rare clock that belongs to the early beginnings of the British master clock and the Synchronome Co.
