A GALLO-ROMAN BRONZE LION SUPPORT OR BRACKET
FIRST HALF OF 2ND CENTURY A.D.
The lion is crouched on rectangular base with forelegs raised holding rectangular attachment plate, the long tail curled between his legs, with thick mane and open jaw; and a Roman bronze boar head protome with rectangular socket at rear, with mouth agape, short curved tusks and lentoid eyes, an incised vase with two plant stems on the underside, 3rd Century A.D.
