Howard & Ayers, op. cit., illustrate a Mount Vernon plate from the Mottahedeh collection and note that several variations of commemorative Mount Vernon services were made following the 1799 death of President Washington, probably based on the 1803 Samuel Seymour engraving. These plates descended in the family of Captain Daniel C. Bacon of Boston.
