The case with balustraded gallery and urn finials, outset columns with brass Corinthian capitals, the trunk with bevelled glass panel within a border carved in low relief, recessed plinth panel with egg-and-dart border, on bracket feet, the engraved brass dial applied with a silvered Arabic chapter ring, inscribed TEMPUS FUGIT on a convex disc in the arch, the eight day triple barrel movement with anchor escapement, quarter chimes on four rod gongs and hour strike on coiled gong, the gong stand with stamp for Junghans -- 77½in. (197cm.) high
