Olivier Leflaive has been intimately involved in running the family's Domaine Leflaive. 20 years ago, faced with far greater demand for his wines than the Domaine could ever supply, he formed this independent business, also based in Puligny-Montrachet, to buy grapes, vinify, tend and bottle. Its immediate successes - of which these vintages are fine examples - spurred many other growers to branch out into grape-buying. A.H.
