The present vase is large and impressive, and appears to be slightly taller than a few other published Qianlong-marked flambé-glazed vases of this shape. An example was included in the exhibition Qing Imperial Porcelain, Nanjing Museum and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1995, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 64; one is illustrated by M. Beurdeley and G. Raindre, Qing Porcelain, London, 1986, pl. 210; one from the collection of Sir Alan and Lady Barlow, was included in the O. C. S. exhibition, Monochrome Porcelain, London, 1948, no. 94; and another was sold in our New York Rooms, 21 September 2000, lot 390.
