A RARE LATE MING BLUE AND WHITE MINIATURE JAR AND COVER
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE-CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The small globular jar painted with four sinuous five-clawed dragon roundels flanked by precious objects, below a band of lotus lappets around the mouth rim, the domed cover with petals encircling the bud-shaped knop finial, the cobalt of rich purplish-blue tones (small rim chip restored, nick to inner rim of cover)
