The case with detachable side panels with cut-out brass interlacings overlaid on fabric, formerly with rear door, with gilded and reeded panels applied to the dial behind the ormolu flowerhead spandrels to the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the plain centre with a silvered trellis mount engraved with flowerheads, with apertures for winding holes with engraved arbors and for the day of the week with corresponding symbol, date and month with zodiacal symbol and number of days, flat blued steel hands, chime/silent and strike/silent levers to the sides, the arch above with fourteen tune selection above a rolling moonphase, the substantial movement joined by ringed pillars and secured with brackets to straps across the inside of the case, triple chain fusees with recoil escapement with silk suspension, with hour strike on bell, quarter chimes on three further bells and hourly music on fourteen bells via twenty-four hammers driven by a 23.5 cm. long pinned cylinder
