the frosted gilt chain fusee movement with profusely engraved and pierced cock and foot to the edge of the top plate with floral scroll work and mythical birds, decorative pierced pillars, verge escapement, steel balance with hairspring, worm set-up to spring barrel, the silver champleve dial with Roman numerals, Arabic five-minute divisions, outer quarter hour ring and dagger half hour marks, signed cartouches to the centre flanked by a crowned lion and unicorn and surmounted by a crown, blued steel beetle and poker hands, gilt decoration to the edge, in plain inner case with dust cover to winding arbor, split bezel and 7-piece hinge, the outer silver case covered in tortoiseshell inlaid with silver and mother-of-pearl floral scroll work to the bowl and with shells and flower to the rim and bezel, square 7-piece hinge
