Esau Davies is probably the maker of this dresser. Bont is a small village near Abergavenny, Monmouthshire and so provides a more detailed regional attribution to this model of Welsh dresser

A WELSH OAK DRESSER
Late 19th century
The inverted breakfront plate rack with central shelves and glazed doors, all lined with wallpaper, the lower section with a drawer and a twin panel cupboard door either side of an open shelved compartment, the left hand drawer signed in pencil beneath 'Esau Davies Bont, August 1870'
