The Terpuoscope lantern was the subject of British patent no. 12860, 14 August 1889 granted to Alfred Wrench. The rackwork automatic registering slide-carrier was designed for showing both mounted and unmounted slides, and to conceal the change by an effect (created by a brass shutter) like a falling curtain.
