Imposant mortier en jade vert pâle veiné représentant un félin stylisé. Le corps de l'animal repose sur quatre pieds arrondis et se termine par une importante queue enroulée. La tête aux proportions massives et carrées comporte une gueule soulignée par des incisions.

This massive and rare solid jade container carved with a stylized feline showing large, ferocious teeth, with a long intricately twisted tail resembling that of a spider monkey, supported on four squat legs; in pale green veined stone.
Such mortars may have been used for the preparation of hallucinogenic substances.
