A Worcester scalloped plate and a blue and white sauceboat
Circa 1770, the plate with underglaze blue crescent mark
The plate painted with two exotic birds in an extensive watery landscape amongst insects and birds in flight, within a blue border edged with scrolls and with dentil rim (stapled section to rim), and a silver-shaped sauceboat painted with a vignette of shrubs before a fence within a scroll-moulded cartouche, a similar vignette to the reverse, a foliate sprig beneath the lip, reserved on a ground moulded with overlapping scales (cracked, very minor chipping and staining)
The plate 8½ in. (21.6 cm.) diam., the sauceboat 6¼ in. (15.8cm) long
