First identified as a work by Loeding by Hofstede de Groot, the attribution has been confirmed on the basis of photographs by Mr. Fred Meijer of the RKD, to whom we are very grateful. For the artist, compare with the still life sold, Sotheby's, London, 12 December 2002, lot 156 (£23,900).
