This concert was the first of many occasions in late 1962 that Epstein booked a top act to appear in Merseyside so that The Beatles could support them on the bill. Bruce Channel's harmonica player, Delbert McLinton, apparently had such an influence on John Lennon that night that he was the inspiration for the harmonica sections clearly heard on many of the songs recorded by The Beatles in 1963 and 1964.
